Intermediates Baseball
Intermediates Baseball for League Age 13 year-old players represents a step up from Majors--not only in the size of the field and level of play, but in player responsibility and self-management as well. While this is still meant as a fun, recreational season, we consider it preparatory to high school baseball. Intermediates is offered as part of the Seattle Central LL & Rainier District LL combined "SCR" program, although you will register via your home league.
The "Intermediates" name comes from the diamond dimensions - 70′ basepaths and 50′ pitching distance; these dimensions are larger than the Little League diamond but smaller than the regulation field players will encounter in High School and beyond. The full game, including leadoffs and true steals, is taught.
Players will hit the field a little earlier that you are used to, with whole-group workouts starting in mid-February before rosters are created in early March. Games will start in late March. Travel for games ranges farther out into the rest of the District to the South and our neighboring District to the North.
Juniors Baseball
Juniors baseball is offered for players league age 13 and 14 as part of the Seattle Central & Rainier District combined "SCR" program, although you will register via your home league and is played on a 90' (full size) baseball diamond
While this is still meant as a fun, recreational season, we also consider it preparatory to high school baseball. Everything about the experience will match their potential high school baseball experience--diamond size, 7-inning games, 90' basepaths, and 60'-6" pitching distance.
Just like High School, Juniors hit the field in February. Whole-group workouts will start in mid-February before rosters are created in early March. Games will start in late March. Travel for games ranges farther out into the rest of the District to the South and our neighboring District to the North.
